Making English simple, fun and relevant. At last.
What is Gramatica?
Gramatica is a fresh and exciting way of teaching and learning the English language.
It gives students the clear, colour-coded visual structures they need to express themselves in any and all life situations: school, exams, work, family, leisure. It then teaches them how to be active makers of language, not just receivers. Gramatica students learn the strategies they need to make language. They know how to choose the appropriate structures for their needs. Gramatica students think in English. And when they learn how to their strategies and their structures together, they become strong, capable, decisive speakers, writers, readers and listeners. Structures + Strategies = Strength "[Greg] did not use books to teach, but his own materials that he made. The materials and the ways he taught made our class always think and even enable us to teach others, which means we understood it 100 percent. Also, to teach others what we have learned, students should be self-motivated. The class helped us to be self-motivated to study as well. |
English is MUCH simpler than you think.Yes, It's true. For so long, we have been led to believe that English is difficult. The spelling and pronunciation might be, but the grammatical principles and structures that hold English together are ridiculously simple.
Gramatica shows you these principles and structures and then how to teach them. Welcome! MaterialsAll Gramatica materials are online. Simply download and print the documents you need for yourself, or laminate those you need for classroom use. If you run out, simply repeat the process.
After you purchase your license, which provides unlimited access for one year, your only costs are paper, toner and laminating materials. The theory and researchIn brief, as the research into the way students learn English is far too extensive to deal with fully here, Gramatica follows the way that students learn best.
Students learn best with clear, visual structures. (Medina) Students learn best by using higher order thinking. (Bloom's Taxonomy of Learning) Students learn best when the material is relevant and purposeful (Zull). Gramatica provides all of these. The Gramatica System
The Gramatica System is a comprehensive universe of ESL material for all learners, from absolute beginners to advanced students. It is holistic and complete.
Gramatica is a carefully structured sequential system that starts with the foundational principles and structures that underpin the entire language. It then guides teachers through a methodical, logical program that includes everything grammatical: tenses, modals, conditionals, sentence types, gerunds and infinitives, punctuation, all clause types, prepositions. In every section, students learn the grammar structures first and then how to use them in speaking and listening, writing and reading. Theory is followed by relevant, purposeful practice at all times. Gramatica starts at the same point of CEFR Level A1 for all students. “The workshop is an extraordinary course for teachers wanting to simplify the way they teach grammar to students. Lots of lightbulb moments! I loved it and I look forward to applying everything I learned into the classroom.” A note from GregFor many years, my dream has been to share Gramatica and show the world that teaching and learning English is a wonderful and exciting adventure.
Gramatica works. I have used it with great success over many years, with students of all ages, from five year old preschoolers to students in their seventies, with students from over 50 different countries, from Argentina to Vietnam, and students of all levels, from Elementary to Advanced and even students preparing for exams like FCE, IELTS and Cambridge. Gramatica students learn effectively and well. Their eyes widen when they realise how simple it is, when they start to think in English. Welcome to the adventure! Greg |
