Clauses
In English, we have two types of Clauses, Main and Supporting.
A Main Clause is also called an Independent Clause.
When I want to tell you my Main Idea, I use a Main Clause
A Supporting Clause is also called an Dependent Clause or a Phrase. Dependent Clauses and Phrases have different structures, but they do the same job.
When I want to add information to my Main Clause, I use a Supporting Clause. I can add Time, Place, Person, Reason, Method or General information.
