Gramatica Primary follows the Australian Curriculum closely.
However, for the sake of clarity, it has rewritten many of the content descriptors, making them both easier to read and understand and more visible (example below). After all, teachers cannot assess what they cannot see. They cannot assess a content descriptor that includes the word 'understand' until they can see a student's written or spoken production. Therefore, Gramatica Primary has changed all instances of the verb understand to verbs that students can physically do, and therefore, which the teacher can record and assess. Please note that Gramatica Primary is primarily focussed on grammar from the word level up to the paragraph so, of course, it cannot cover material below word level, such as phonetics and spelling, and it does not yet cover content above paragraph level such as story writing, although this is coming. |
